Energous (WATT): Connecting The Dots To Apple (AAPL)
On the heels of Bloomberg’s wireless charging report, Morgan Stanley (MS) is out with a note predicting Apple (AAPL) will introduce “two revolutionary features over the next 1-2 years.” Sure enough, one of those features is radio frequency-based wireless charging.
Based on my recent conversations with a large shareholder in Ossia – and the details in the MS note – Energous Corp (WATT) is the only company that fits the description.
MS thinks wireless charging is a “possible upside surprise in iPhone 7” with <50% probability of happening. I agree, we’re most likely to see WATT in an AAPL product in 2017, not 2016.
The good news is major media outlets and financial institutions are starting to connect the dots.
I’m told Bloomberg’s source is most likely Foxconn, as the reporter is based in Asia. You’ll recall, WATT singed a JDA with Foxconn in January 2015, the same month it signed the agreement with its Tier 1 partner. And as everyone knows, Foxconn manufactures Apple’s products. So the connection couldn’t be more straightforward.
I’ll do my best to try to figure out the “industry experts” talking with MS.
Bottom line: It’s only a matter of time until people make the next connection to WATT. With that in mind, I’ve prepared a report (available for free download after sign-up here) with even more evidence of the connection.
